In this project I wanted to show the inner side of this country, hidden from tourists. To see it you need to do more than just turn off the main street. To immerse yourself in another reality, you need to find friends from local residents so that they - step by step - show how their country, their city lives.
Where others would have seen slums, I saw a special beauty, which can only be understood by penetrating the traditions, culture and mentality of Egypt.
The project was put together over many years, piece by piece.
I haven’t been to Egypt for a long time, but I miss and love this magical country.
